Need an Ark!

Well unfortunately our 4th of July was washed out
as far as a picnic parade and fireworks was concerned.

But we still had a WONDERFUL day
GREAT company
GREAT food
and a FUN time.

I hope you did too!

Hi Maura,

It sounds like the weather didn't spoil your celebration. And those beautiful lilacs do need that wonderful rain.

I just discovered your blog, and as a fellow Kansan I love it! Though I'm soon moving away after a lifetime in the Sunflower state ~ I'll always be a Kansas girl at heart... :)

We had great weather here, it cooled down a little which was nice!

We laid low at the pad. Way too many people at 4th festivities here in the big old city, so we just hung out at home. Lots of fireworks displays were canceled because the state is so broke we can’t afford them anymore.

Maura, what a lovely table you set! I see you were successful at Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite places). Sorry you got rained out. I wouldn't have minded it a bit over here. We are still at a deficit, and I'm desperate for some significant rainfall. But we also had a great time lighting up the night sky. I should have posted a few pics myself... I'll have to do that tomorrow! : ) Melissa

I always like seeing pictures of July 4th festivities. The red, white and blue look so pretty together. I'm Canadian, and I wish we went all out on Canada Day as our southern neighbours do for their national holiday.

Maura, I am assured that *any* of the festivities you plan, rain or shine, are fab!

Sweet day to you! xo, misha

I sure agree with Laura Jeanne on our Canada Day holiday. There seem to be more red and white around this year and lots of fireworks everywhere but we don't show our patriotic side enough. Kudos to you! Maybe next year I'll try and join you at that table!!

Lots of love...Scufty
