Yesterday evening the animals and I went for a stroll just as the sun was getting ready to set.
It was a beautiful evening.
Looking towards the fruit trees
All the dogs and cats came with me
Lots of lawn to mow around the farmhouse and lots of good rabbit trails to follow.
Our lane heading out to the dirt road that passes our farm.
I like that our mailbox is on our side of the road...most farmers have to cross the road to get to thier mailboxes but we are at the end of the route on this road so we're spoiled!
Bubba and Shep
Heading back down the lane looking into one of the pastures.
Olly watching for grasshoppers and butterflies.
On the prowl
Shep getting a little rough for Lizzy's liking. Better watch out Shep.
Olly our house cat
Brother and Sister. Olly in back and Lizzy out front.
Grasshopper hunting
Back to the coop to put everyone to bed.
The yellow birds and one black one in back is part of the group of chicks we bought at the end of March. They're nearly full grown.
One of the young cockrels.
Priscilla telling me she's not ready for bed yet.
Shep waiting for me.
It was a fun stroll around the farm and everyone had a good time.
Now it's time to head inside and read my email and have an apple cider.
But first there's treats for everyone!
What do you like to do in the evenings?

You have lovely company Maura. What a lovely walk and so entertaining with the family. They are just like kids! Beautiful country.... I felt like I was tagging along... Well done! Susan :)
I love lazy evenings, Maura. Your farm has such a comforting spirit about it. So beautiful. If I'm ever in Kansas, I'd love to stop by for a stroll and a glass of cider! : ) Melissa
What a wonderful walk you took! I would love to say that I had to much grass to mow. But soon I should be able too!
Even when our children were small, I always loved to go out after supper and swing. It has been too hot to really enjoy the outdoors. I go out on the deck and view the stars.
Lovely photos of your farm and your pets. Pricella looks like a character.
There's always a last stroll here, when it's time to shut up the coop for the night. When it's raining it's a mad dash, but on a warm night it's nice to take the long way down and enjoy the evening. I like the lilies around your mailbox and now I think I'd better do something nice down by our newspaper box - the mail comes to one of those horrible central boxes down the road.
All wonderful photos of your critters, but I absolutely {{heart}} the one of Shep and Lizzie! I also love it that you took all the animals with you.. lol.. perfect evening in my estimation! Thanks so much for sharing your walk - reminds me I need to take the time to do this more often :) -Tammy

Our cats go walking with us too, when we walk with the dogs. It looks so nice and cool there. Like a summer evening should!

Loved the evening stroll Maura! What a pretty place, home sweet home. We like to set outside under the trees if the weather isn't too hot, also go out for a ride in the boat. Sometimes we fish, sometimes we just listen the radio and relax! I'm trying to get ready for the Grandkids visit, I've been to the grocery 3X already!haha
What a great post! Thanks for taking us on your walk with you. The photos are just wonderful. Your farm is beautiful.

Hi Maura,
I just popped over from Erin's Painted Garden. First time here. I love your farm. It reminds me of being at my Granny and Grandpa's farm almost every weekend growing up. Your dogs and cats are wonderful! Please stop over and visit when you have time. I will become a follower :)
