PIcket Fences

These are a few photo's of our former home.
We built the porch and picket fence and arbor ourselves.
Some of these photo's have been re-posted.
(You can click on the photo's and  they will enlarge)

Don't you just love picket fences. There's something very 'cottagy' about them...a home with a picket fence looks cozy and inviting...a place you want to spend time at.

Pair a picket fence with a garden...and it's pure HEAVEN! I had a house like that with a picket fence and arbor that my hubby and I built ourselves. It was a labor of love.

I miss that picket fence and garden and arbor. We have a plan though for here at the farm. If all goes well we will build another picket fence and arbor and flower garden here at our little farm cottage.

I can't wait!

I hope you enjoy warm weather and soft breezes and the scent of spring
at your 'cottage' today.

Mmm yes I love picket fences too ... tried real hard to get one, but hubby as wonderful as he is, just won't go there! LOL!

Have enjoyed reading your blog today and am adding you to my reading list ... I can see we have a lot of things in common.

Hello Sandi! So nice to 'meet' you and thank you for stopping by. I'm glad you're enjoying reading my little blog. I hope one day your hubby changes his mind about the picket fence...maybe one day down the road he'll consider it. Good luck with that. I hope you have a WONDERFUL day...take care...Maura:)

Oh Maura, how beautiful! We have just a little piece of picket fence that runs along the walkway to our back door. Right now, there are white azaleas and lilies of the valley and some green/white hostas there. It's rather wild looking, and not nearly as pretty as your former garden. :)

These are absolutely beautiful pictures. I can't imagine leaving such a beautiful place, but your Kansas home is already shaping up to be just as beautiful.
