Are You A Vacation Dreamer too?

A cabin in the woods perhaps?

Living in the the country is absolutely wonderful...but the season for summer travelling will soon be upon us. Sometimes I like to sit back with a cup of tea and dream about where I would love to take a vacation. Do you do that? Where would you like to spend a couple of weeks if you could go anywhere? Would it be at the seaside? A mountain? A far away land? A lake?

How about waking up in the morning here with your boat tied up out front?

Most of my dreams of a place to sit back and relax include a secluded cottage or cabin whether it be in the summer or winter. Some people like to be where there is a lot of action and lots of other people to mingle with and be entertained by. That's what they're looking for. Not me. I like to get out and do things and be entertained but when I'm done I like to go back to something nice and quite for the evening or just explore the area where we're staying. I don't need a lot of action around me to enjoy a vacation.

Would you like a cottage rental in England?

A little cabin with a view?

I like this sweet cabin. Imagine sitting out on the patio with a glass of wine after a day of antique hunting!

Wouldn't this be nice by the lake. You could sit out on the porch and watch the world go by

Or how about renting this cottage not far from a quaint little English Village?

Or maybe you prefer to vacation in the winter so you can ski?

How about you? Do you or would you like to stay in a cottage or cabin someplace beautiful and quite and enjoy nature or do you like to be where the action is?

Vacations.. ahhh, I've forgotten what that means? ;-) Mostly I like to visit quiet scenic spots, but sometimes action is nice too. But for the most part... there's no place like home (for me). I know I'm a boring ol' homebody :) Great pics and dreaming!! -Tammy

I am a vacation dreamer definately. I watched a new movie the other night called Leap Year. Now I really want to go to Ireland. I want to go to a small village on the coast and stay at a B&B and see all the castles and green hills. Oh and especially listen to the people talk. I love their accents. Maybe I'll get there this year.

When it comes to vacations I'm an "anything that gets me out of here" type of gal! (kidding) I love fantasizing about living here, there and everywhere..In this cottage or in that chalet!!! And I also love the big city for about 2 days. Can't handle much more than that...but it's fun while it lasts!!! Because on Honey Bunny's work we've never taken a 2 week vacation but if we were I have to say I'd want to go to the beach or Paris...or maybe to both!!!

I tend to dream more about get-a-ways than actually doing it...
I'm overdue on a trip "home", unfortuantely the older I get, the harder it is to visit, and then return.
Isn't that sad ?
I like to take trips to the Smokey Mountains, a little cabin, all tucked away safely :)
Lovely post, I feel as if I've actually been on a trip !

On your front porch during Lilac time! Any cabin near a lake. Anywhere out of here...We don't vacation together anymore...English Husband is too busy with his work and when your self employed you can't take time off. When he does, he loves to just stay home...He doesn't like to travel...So, I go alone...Europe would be nice..

Oh Maura, I love them all, but I esp love that "sweet cabin" that you like. It looks so peaceful and adorable!! :) I'm definitely a backwoods person, love hiking, being out with nature.

RE: the hubby, yep, he's a Kansan boy. It will be 2 years in July that I've been here, but you would think I was a Kansan from the way I am running around outside with my camera in bad weather!! LOL

Here's hoping that tonight is not as bad as last night... stay safe!!

My favorite holiday is one that combines some travel and some stay-put time, so I love to rent and apartment or a holiday house in a faraway location - the best of both worlds!

Hello Ladies! I'm glad you like the pictures and it's nice to know you all dream about vacations too. It sounds as though we all pretty much dream about them rather than take them though. Life has a way of sometimes getting in the way of our dreams unfortunately. We go to Canada every year so that pretty much takes care of our holidays for the year. Once 'we're' retired hopefully that will be different. Keeping fingers and toes crossed!

Tammy I agree ..there's no place like home for me too. It's nice to take a break now and again but it's always nice to get home.

Joelle Ireland is one place I'd love to go and visit. My Sister is in England..it would be nice to hop over to Ireland if we ever get back there for a visit. Good luck with your dream!

jamjar I feel the same as you about cities...they're nice to visit for a few days but that's enough for me. As I mentioned before my sister is in England and lives about 20 minutes by train to London...it's a lovely city but I can only take so much of it. Now Paris...oooo la la...I LOVED Paris and was there for 4 days including travel but I LOVED it...it's a BEAUTIFUL city and I'd go back again in a heart beat just to 'feel' it again. However...if I ever get back this time I'd like to see the country with it's small villages. We can dream can't we?!

Jo I can understand how hard it must be to leave your family behind. I have a hard time leaving my sister and her family too. Ooo the Smokey Mountains would be wonderful. One day when hubby retires we'll take a trip over there. I'd love to go up to Prince Edward Island and work our way back following the changing of the trees into north western Arkansas...that would be a wonderful trip. I hope you get to go 'home' this year.

Cynthia...come on over!!! You know where we live and the porch will be waiting for you along with a glass of wine and a bunch of animals to love on you...what more could you want LOL! I know exactly what it's like to own your own business and never get to go anywhere because you're afraid you'll miss the work. My ex and I own a flood and fire restoration company along with a carpet cleaning business...talk about feeling trapped. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and just go for it or you'll go crazy! I learned that lesson too late!! Maybe one day when I win the lottery ;)...we'll take a trip to England..visit my Sister..then head to France and visit Catherine...how's that! Sounds good to me.

Susan I had a feeling your hubby was from Kansas...they all want to stand outside and watch the storms when they come in...they're NUTS! Yes I hope tonight isn't as bad as last night...I'll be watching to see how you made out if Kansas get's hit again with some bad storms. You stay safe too!

I love dreaming about vacations, but when it comes down to it, I love being home even more.

I've had dreams of Hawaii or Fiji, somewhere in the South Pacific. But honestly, Maura, my dream vacation now is in my own backyard, sipping lemonade with my favorite and best friend, my husband. Boring but beautiful to me. There's no place like home!♥

Oh sigh, yes.... I am a vacation dreamer. I have been dreaming of a week in Vermont for the past 10 years. Although I have traveled all over the world ( I know I am very fortunate) it is still a dream of mine to go to Vermont in the Fall. Never stop dreaming. Wishing you happiness, Katherine
