One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others

What's different about this picture?

We've had one storm after another today (Wednesday) and tornado warnings that started at 10 am and will continue until 10pm tonight. This is the second day this week we've had these warnings! Just after lunch the sun came out and I headed out to mow before the storms actually began....I finished JUST in time!

Olly hanging out with the chickens

While I was mowing one of the pastures the chickens and geese came out in hopes that I would scare up a few tasty morsels. They love when I mow.

Olly decided to hang out with the chickens while I puttered around. It's funny how the chickens accept the cats. However...the cats have learned to have great respect for Romeo the rooster!

Since I wasn't able to get many photo's today because of rushing to get everything mowed before the storms came I thought I'd add a few pictures from a couple of weeks ago.

The 'neighbors' let another truck load of cattle loose on the fields around us . They were pretty excited to be let out of the pen but they were more curious about us.

The 'boss man' stands between us and his cows

This is what we found one morning

Three of them decided our grass looked better than theirs (including the bull!) so they jumped the electric fence...had a bite to eat and then laid down to chew their cud!
Who'd have thought a cow could jump that high.

They had a good old time until their owner drove over and escorted them back into their pasture.
Oh well...at least they had a good feed and enjoyed a little freedom even if it was
just for a little while.

The storms are nearly over for today (Wednesday) and we havnen't been 'blown' away ..thank goodness.

So far so good!

Maura, stay safe!

Oh and I wish I had a cow come visit me. Of course, I might not let her leave. : )

What a nice post, and I DO hope you stayed safe throughout all the storms. Are they over yet? I surely hope so... I am really tired of these storms. I think we all are. I am also relieved to see such nice peaceful pictures of your chickens with your cats. I'm hoping all will be in harmony here too. Of course the babies will have to be protected for awhile after they arrive (next week) :) Stay safe! -Tammy

It's nice you have such a gracious attitude about the bovine visitors. I hope they didn't eat anything but the grass and maybe fertilize a bit! I confess, my ox and his companion cow once got out to play rodeo in the neighbor's bean field.
