Apple Season!

It's September and that means APPLE SEASON!

When the apples start to ripen I feel a shift in my attitude towards the coming season.

I dont' really want to see summer end but at the same time I'm ready for cooler weather.

Cooler weather brings the smells of apples baking or simmering on the stove.

Don't you just love this apple swag on the back of the chair! This would be fun for a fall dinner party or 'get-together' don't you think?

I hope you're getting prepared for the changing of the season.
If you're having trouble getting into 'fall mode' maybe the pictures I have shared will help make the switch just a little bit easier for you. I hope so.

Happy Autumn! (soon)

Maura :)

Hi Miss Maura,

Boy, are we ready for autumn, but where is it? It was so hot here this past week. It just wears you down.

Here in the south the poor pumpkins sit out in the intense sun & heat, they must start to cook.

Mom buys a small cooking pumpkin for our pumpkin pies - one for Thanksgiving & one for Christmas, she cooks, purees and freezes the right amount in baggies.

Heaps of Hugs, happy weekend.

Sometimes I miss our red kitchen - but then I look at the sunny walls and I'm happy with the yellow. Still, there's something about a red eating area.....

One of my favorite things of fall are the apples!
I also love the red walls in the kitchen and your kitchen is just lovely too--I'm not brave enough to use the color red in my house, and I'm not sure why because I always think it looks fabulous! I hope you're having a great weekend!!

It's turning fall here Maura! We are only getting into the low 70's for highs and some of the trees are starting to change a bit.
Well you know I love apples! Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons because of the inspiring colors of the trees, cooler weather, and my favorite of all...APPLES!

I love to peel and core Roma apples. Place them in a shallow dish, add butter, cinnamon and sugar in the center then microwave. It is like apple pie, but without all the crust.

I have decorated for fall. Now I am just waiting on the weather to co-operate.

I am so ready for fall. Kansas has been very hot this summer and I"m looking forward to the coolness of fall. I have already been into the Cider with some of our cool evenings. I so love your pictures of the apples. It makes me feel all "fallish".

You are looking forward to autumn and I am looking forward to spring...the two best seasons of the year I think...not too hot, not too cold and both with beauty to offer in abundance.
I thoroughly enjoyed your apple post today Maura...thank you.
Warmest Hugs,
