I'm In Lilac Heaven!

I have been waiting so long to see the lilac groves in full bloom...I knew they would be beautiful but I really didn't expect the show that we are getting. Oh my ....the air smells WONDERFUL....you just have to walk out the door and you can smell those beautiful blossoms. I wish we could open the windows in the house but it's way too windy and the dust is blowing so not a good idea. I worked in the garden off and on all day and it is downwind from both groves...in fact one of the lilac groves is right along the vegetable garden fence! I would just close my eyes and I was taken right back to my Grandparents and Great Grandparents gardens...what wonderful memories that scent recalled. I will really miss the lilac blooms when they're done but I've taken lots of pictures to remember this wonderful time.

I hope you have something in your garden that brings back happy memories for you.

Maura, Heaven indeed! How beautiful and how wonderful that someone planted these in the first place. I read once that planting a tree is planting something for future generations. How true! I wish your lilacs would last forever for you!

Be well ~Andrea~

Those lilacs are wonderful! Beautiful!!

We have buckbrush in CA that smells intoxicating in the spring. But it only blooms such a short time. :(

Enjoy your bounty!

I took Lilac pictures this morning. I hope to share tonight. I love your lilacs! Makes me want more & more & more (than our lone bush). Don't they smell marvelous? I hate to leave my yard in the mornings. -Tammy

Every time I smell a lilac I think of my Mum....it was her very favorite flower. I wish they bloomed for a longer period....Yours are sooo yummy.

Warm blessings,
Spencer

Your lilac's are gorgeous and yes, they do remind me of when I was a child and lived in Oregon. There were gorgeous lilac's completely covering our front porch...
Our lovely fir tree's and those lilac's are something I never got over missing...or the different apple tree's that grew beside out home. The Washington Delicious were just beautiful and I loved to shine them until they looked full of tiny stars...
Beautiful memories you brought back to me. Thank you so much!
Hugs,
Mona

The lilacs aren't quite at that point here yet, but I did stick my nose into a nearly-open bloom today and had a heavenly sniff!
