UPDATE!

UPDATE

~~~~~~~~
It was a week ago today that we took
our computer in to get fixed.
Today we stopped by the computer
shop to see how things are going.
The 'motherboard' arrived at his store
today and so our computer
will be staying with him until some
time next week.
I shudder to think what it will cost us
but we do what we have to do.
In the meantime I'm learning to
use this lap top.
I'm finding this contraption a lot
different than our desktop computer
but it's better than nothing.
Now if I can figure out how to get my
photo's on here and do some editing
I'll be happy!
I hope you are all enjoying some beautiful
spring weather.
We here in our part of Kansas
are under cloudy skies
and cooler temperatures.
When the sun comes out I will be out
'haying' the yard
and pulling weeds!
Maybe it's just as well I can't play
with photo's right now ;)
I hope you all have a wonderful
weekend with lots of
sunshine and warm temperatures.
I'll 'see' you soon...
...with photos!
~~~~~~~~~

Yes our computer is down for the count.
The nice young fellow who is
trying to fix it for us figures we had a lightning
strike at some point and didn't know it.

We need a new 'mother board' so we
won't be getting our computer
back for a week or so...
if it can be fixed that is.

I will be back as soon as I can.

~~~~~~~
OH...just thought you would like to know
that our lilacs are in full bloom
and no matter where you go on the
farm you can smell their fragrance
inside and outside.
I can close my eyes and picture my Nana :)
I have taken lots of photo's
and will share them with you
soon.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
:)
dear Maura,
You might only get this when your computer is back on. but last night something strange happened with google. It was late at night, and i couldnt get access to my blogger page or leave comments.. I found out a couple of other friends had the same problem.
I had to spend a few hours sorting out new passwords and other security questions..
cyber hic ups.
I am so sorry about your computer. I hate when something like that happens. My eyes filled with tears when I read your ending. I hope that someday my grandkids will smell lilacs (my very favorite flowers) and say it reminds them of THEIR Nana (me);>) xo Diana
Oh we're experiencing the same thing! A lightning strike hit our computer and printer (even with a serge protector)a couple weeks ago. While the computer is a goner, at least they could back up the hard drive and we should be able to reload the important documents. Alas, a new computer was necessary...cha-ching. Here's hoping yours will be up and running soon...we can't wait to see the lilacs! -Mary
so sorry about the computer, that is a major pain! I can't resist asking though, if it is broken, how did you post your blog? (I'll be going now so you don't hit me lol)
Oh I can't wait to see your lilac photos Maura. What a lovely memory of your Nana.
My lilac are beginning to look promising but I've got a little wait until they hopefully flower. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get more than last years three buds!
I hope your computer makes a miraculous recovery and is discharged soon. I know I feel like I've lost a limb when I lose my laptop.
Be brave and enjoy your lilac in the meantime. I can almost smell them here :D
Maura: I'm really sorry that your computer is down, but I am really happy that you are alright. Hope you get it fixed soon (and it isn't too expensive). I can smell your lilacs from here and it's a good thing too because mine are only just starting to pop their leaves. Glad to hear from you..Happy Friday..Judy
Starting Over, Accepting Changes - Maybe said...
Dear Maura,
10 years ago I would have never though that "computer down" would be such a stressful situation. Unfortunately, it is. However, now I have my handy, dandy little iPad to fill in. It is well worth the money, except that it interprets your words differently and changes them when you are not looking.
No lilacs yet, but almost everything else is in bloom. Naturally, after weeks of above average temperatures, we had a frost and may have it again tonight.
I love your WORD VERIFICATION FREE BLOG...man, that is so hard to see those things. Drive me crazy!!!
I just got my computer back from "problems". Apparently I had a virus that shut everything down. That is so rotten. WHY do people feel that have to be so "evil" to put viruses out there.
LILACS I LOVE... I adore the smell, the look of those little individual flowers on each stem.....I pick them every chance I get.
What a sweet thought that it makes you think of your grandmother. Sweet memories...how I love them.
Oh Noooo Maura! My motherboard died in December. Had to get a new laptop. Hurry back! I bet the lilacs are awesome.
Sorry about your computer woes. I hope you don't get burned like my friend did recently. She paid $200 to get hers fixed but it wasn't fixed at all. She decided to get a new one after her computer guru nephew told her if your computer is 6 years old or older you are much better off getting a new one than fixing your old one.
