Random Photo's And A Surprise From France

Our weather has been cold and breezy
so we have been home-bound
and only go out when
 we absolutely
have to.

Horses, chickens and barn cats etc
are about the only things that
make us brave
the cold.

I'm sure my family up in Canada
is snickering over this ;)

Because of the cold I haven't ventured
outside much to take photo's
so I decided to post
some of the random
inside photo's I've taken
over the past couple of years.

Before I do that though I'd like
to show you what was in a parcel
I received last week
It came all the way from
FRANCE
and was a gift from my wonderful
Blogging friend

She is a real sweetheart.

In the parcel was a lovely French
sugar canister

A heavy linen dish towel

And some delicious hard candy made in
the village near where Catherine lives.

Here's another look at the canister.

~ Thank you Catherine! ~

I absolutely love every thing
and I have sampled the candy
and it is delicious!
:)

Above and below are photo's
I have taken around the cottage

I know most of you have
seen a good number of these photo's
or similar ones
sorry...I hope you don't mind
me showing them again.

I hope the weather where you are
isn't too bad and that you are
able to get outside
and enjoy the
winter.

COME ON SPRING!
:)

We're having freezing rain on top of the snow of the past few days - and high winds are forecast for overnight. Winter in BC!
Your gift from France is so sweet - what a thoughtful friend!

Hi Maura,

It´s wonderful the blogging world, allowing us to make friends around the world we might not otherwise meet :-) You obviously have a very good friend in Catherine, such lovely gifts!

Your home is so warm and cozy! I was curious what the one little item on your shelf was, looks like a bunch of pins sticking up...hard to describe, but it was round and metal looking...what is that?

Have a lovely day!

What a sweet package you received. That sugar container is wonderful.

Thank you for sharing pictures of your oh so lovely home.

It's perfectly gorgeous down here in s.e. FL. The best time of year for living here.

Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady

Very pretty photos. I had not seen many of these. My favorite is your beautiful hutch and all your blue and white. You have a wonderful collection. My second favorite is your photo of the lamp, fern and lace curtain, very creative.

I enjoy seeing photos of your beautiful home, Maura. Now you have a touch of France to add to it. (I hope you're dusting off your memories of French classes back in Canada.)
The last photo, with the sunlight playing on the lampshade and plant is so pretty! If you ever want to participate in my new link-up called "Sunny Sunday" you'd be more than welcome!

A gift from France should bring some sunshine! The sucre cannister reminds me of the vintage kitchen store in paris where I got my tea cannister. It is beautiful and what a generous suprise!

You have a lovely home and lovely things . . . and your new sugar canister is really "sweet!"

"Dusting" must be a daily task around your home . . . any secrets to keeping everything sparkly and beautiful?

I noticed on Catherine's recent post she has found another Eifel tower to add to her pieces on Etsy. How nice for you to receive the surprises from her . . .

great photos. so lovely. we had a nice dusting of snow last night & woke up to sleeting. 32 degrees out. so i'm afraid the weather is not good for driving today.

Catherine was such a sweetie to send that beautiful sugar canister and the other goodies :)
I never tire of seeing pics of your place, Maura! Post away!!!!

We awoke to TERRIBLE thunderstorms this a.m.! All dogs in bed with me, as J flew to the barn. You know how Miss D is with storms! And it is supposed to go to 65 today! Strange weather....

Maura, how wonderful to receive a gift from your friend in France. I enjoyed seeing the photos of your home. It is so lovely and so is your blog. I think we have the same shingles on the outside of our houses! Ours have been on the house as long as my husband can remember. Loved seeing your Henry as well as your other pets and chickens. It has been a cold, rainy day in SC today, and I am so ready for spring, too!

The pictures are all so lovely, I don't mind looking at them again and again.

I don't enjoy going out in the cold either and this wintry weather gives me an excuse to curl up in my bathrobe by the fire and watch a bunch of silly movies. Vegging out time is good thing sometimes.

I do love your banner! And your nice big pics! And your lovelies that came in the mail. I have such a small house, that if I didn't show the same things over and over, I'd have nothing to show!

Your home is so pretty! I love the floor to ceiling beadboard in your bathroom. All of our bathrooms have beadboard but only about four feet high. So very like a farmhouse, huh?
