A Little Bit Of Me
I just thought I'd share a few pictures of our home with you. These were taken at Christmas this year...our first Christmas in this home and most of our decorations were still in boxes in one of our buildings here on the farm. We moved here from a beautiful HUGE Victorian home in a little farming town a few miles from here to this run down little farmhouse. We have since fixed the dining room living room and all bedrooms but still have lots of work to do yet in the rest of the house. Since I haven't taken any new pictures you'll have to excuse the decorations!! I really like the white decorating theme but I have to admit I am a coward and just can't bring myself to paint my good antiques. Oh well...it's home and it's bright and cheery and it makes me happy. I hope you enjoyed a little glimps of our little farmhouse cottage.

Your farmhouse cottage is ever so charming. Love the white cupboard with the pretty dishes all displayed. Your wooden floors are glowing, and the lovely shade of yellow on the walls is very soothing.

Thank you for your kind words Maureen and welcome to my blog! As you can see I have just started it and am a bit shy to spread the word. Those wooden floors were in terrible shape and we really weren't sure how they'd turn out. The living room floor had plywood over the wood floors and then tile on top of that. My husband and his brother tore it all up and I filled all the holes. We sanded but didn't stain the floors...we think they are pecan! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thank you Maureen...it took me a long time to choose the right colours for the house. After living in a beautiful but dark Victorian I wanted something light and cheery so I chose 3 shades of the same yellow. I love the way it calms you and it feels as though the sun is shining even though it's cloudy outside. The names are fun too...Castle Stone, Winter Garden, and Creme Brulee. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day! Maura
