It's Springtime In The Garden

It seems Spring has decided to
come early this year.

For many of us.

I planted 100 daffodils
last fall
and I think I'll
plant another 100
this year.

All 3 of my Columbine are
looking good.

This little fern is peeking its
head out of the ground...
perhaps it's being cautious
since it knows it's a bit early
for it to be unfurling.

I love these daffodils with the
yellow centers.

They're like little sunny faces!

The lilacs buds are getting larger.
I just hope we don't get a late frost.

The tree's are leafing out and the
pastures are turning green.

I even mowed the lawn the other day.

We even got a load of compost
for the veggie garden boxes this weekend.

Now I just need to get the seeds
and start planting.

Don't you just LOVE this time of year!

It all looks so great!

I am afraid to plant anything just yet. If i do, I know the weather will turn too cold. But I can't imagine it getting cold after all the nice weather we have had.

I do love spring and yes it is a special time of year...unfortunately I'll have to get through autumn and winter before I can see it again :( but then that's what makes it so special...the wait and anticipation.
The sunny smiley daffs look so happy to be in their new bed...and would no doubt love lots more friends.
Have fun Maura ~ it looks like it could be a big project! :D

You mowed the lawn, Maura? You are further along than here. I have daffodils springing up but no blooms on them as yet. It won't be long with the warm weather. One more thing, I really like the meandering edge of your flower bed.

Maura: Glad to hear from you. I was getting worried. Seems like a while since we've heard from you, but I do tend to lose track of time. After seeing the size of your lawn space I can see where you have been. Your beds are looking gorgeous. I love the way the rock edging meanders around. Your lilac buds are further along than mine. Can't wait for those..Have a happy Monday..Judy

I love seeing the pics...always so much inspiration here!
We've been really warm here..highs in the low 80's! Unreal for Wisconsin in March...I have to keep reminding myself that it is March.

Maura- Your garden looks beautiful. It looks like you have it all cleaned up and ready for the Season. We are early here, too, this year and I hope we don't get hit with a deep freeze and lose everything. xo Diana

Hi Maura, don't you just love to see the flowers popping up after all the planting last fall. Gives some gratification. Love your large bird bath.
Hope this great weather stays.

As much as I am enjoying this early spring, I have some uneasiness about everything blooming a few weeks to a month ahead of time. Oh well, I should just relax and enjoy.

Everything looks lovely around Lilac Lane Cottage.

I love daffodils. Spring has really sprung here in south GA where we've been having record highs for awhile now. Hubby & I have worked in the yard the last 4 days. Every muscle in my body is sore!!!! I love spring but I don't love thinking about the hot summer to come. Thanks for sharing...keep the great pics coming.

It's so nice to see the daffs! My minis are about to bloom, but that's about it so far. Spring is taking her time here in southern British Columbia.

Such lovely photos! Happy equinox!

I love your birdbath. Your daffodils are pretty. Mine have done great this year, too. I also plan to put in more bulbs in the fall. It's such an encouraging sign to see flowers this early! I hope the summer does not end up being a scorcher!

I WILL love this time of year....once it comes, meaning spring. right now we are still cold, windy and I have lots of MUD.
But that is because we have not yet landscaped the land around our house. Big job yet to be tackled.
I will be happy for the day I can plant daffodils and tulips (hmmm, I'll have to ask hubby if the deer will leave them alone?)

Spring has really exploded here in OK with tree blossoms, trees and plants leafing out and daffodils the same as you. And we, too, are holding our breaths hoping that a late, hard frost doesn't hit us which is known to happen more than not. We had our air conditioner on for several days this last week...in March??? I am praying that this doesn't lead to a long, hot summer like last year.
