Wishy Washy Weather And Farm Friend Friday

I doubt I'm the only one who finds this
time of year frustrating.

One day it's beautiful and 78.
The next it's cool and foggy!

The last couple of weeks have been like this.
A mixed bag. Wishy Washy.

One day you're in Capri pants and tank top
and doing yard work
and the next you're back to jeans and sweater
and snuggled in front of the fire!

Home made Taco Soup and Corn Bread weather

Today we have a winter storm warning
with a 90% chance of
freezing drizzle.
Figures.

See the flock of Red Winged Black Birds on the tree tops in the distance?

Lizzy and Olly snuggling near the fire

Socrates the scarecrow waiting for spring in the background

The day after the chilly foggy day it was

78 and warm enough to hang the laundry
out to dry and catch a few rays!

Chelsea enjoying the warm weather with her buddy 'mousy'

Shep being 'King Of The Castle'

Buds on the lilacs the other day

It was so nice out that I took the opportunity
to do some pruning on the fruit trees
in anticipation of THIS....

I guess I shouldn't complain as this
wishy washy
weather is something we have to endure
in order to get to SPRING.
Sometimes though...you just want it to come
a little sooner.

How's your weather?

I'm joining my good blogging buddy
Amy over at Verde Farm for

I hope you will hop on over and visit Amy
and Richie on their beautiful farm in
West Virginia
and check out all the other fun bloggers
taking part.

You'll have a great time...I promise!

Enjoy your day.
Maura :)

Love your pictures. At least the drizzly weather can make for pretty pictures. We are going between mud and freeze and snow and next week back to mud. As you say, it's all part of really getting spring here.

I would certainly be happy to munch on those fruit trees to help you prune them. Yummy!

Well, Maura...whether your weather is wishy or washy...your photos are gorgeous!

It's about to rain here...HARD. They're even predicting we may get snow at sea level tomorrow...which is weird...we're on the central coast of California!

Wishy washy weather indeed!

Hope you're keeping warm & cozy!

Julie

The picture of Lizzy & Olly is so beautiful. One of the best I've seen. They many not be pack animals but they certainly show their love for one another. I'm waiting too for Spring. I was out buying rain boots today for walking Kane once the snow melts. It's been a long winter. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5

I love the sweetness of your animals. Too bad you don't live near me because I'd come visit your lovely homestead. We're expecting yet another snow storm tonight. Both my body and brain are weary from so much snow and ice this winter. ~sigh~
I like the soft sound that's playing on your iPod. It's soothing me.

Love all the pictures and the trip around the farm, you live in such a beautiful place.
We have tornado warnings out right now, and straight line 80 mile an hour winds moving in...sheesh.
That soup and bread look scrumptious, do you share the recipes, I'd like something new :)
The dogs look so happy, they are truly well loved.
Hang in there.
Hugs

Those blossoms will be so beautiful very soon. From here, under the snowfall, it's hard to believe, but I know that there are primulas and pansies hiding!

Our weather in France is wishy washy too! We have had one nice week beginning of February when I could hang my washing out, since then it has been raining or damp and this morning its foggy, spring definitely hasn't sprung here yet! Linda

Hello Maura
At least you are that much closer to spring than we are; another snow storm predicted for today.
Seeing all your spring time blossoms makes me anxious to get to that point too.

Maura I love, love, love this post this morning! We have snow on the ground, not a lot, but enough for me to get a cranky on and your pictures got rid of my cranky and Lizzie and Olly are making me smile from ear to ear! Also the pictures of your sheets blowin in the country breeze are wonderful! All the pictures of great but I just love the variety and the bit of whimsy :) Thanks for the happy shots this morning!

Your photos lifted my spirit today. The cats and dogs look like they are very happy. I can tell how much they are loved by you.

I adore hanging my sheets out on the line. Hubs has been busy planting some pecan trees and some shrubs. I am excited about the garden this year and can't wait until it is here.

To be outside in the glorius weather at least when it is warm enough.

Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Maura... I'm currently not at home, I'm in Toronto where it is cold. However, I've been told it's actually colder at home right now and they are supposed to set a record for low temps. At least here they are prepared for cold and snow unlike Washington!

Cannot wait for spring but for us that is usually a bit longer of a wait :)

Maura, Lizzy and Olly are so beautiful! And the taco soup - I haven't made that in a while. You've given me inspiration, so that's what I'll make for lunch tomorrow. Although our temp's don't reach 78 (I'm a tad jealous), we did reach 68 last Friday and it was wonderful! Didn't even need a jacket. Today....snow.
Have a great weekend.

Hello Maura, I am sorry you’ve had this gloomy, cold weather too--so have we. It was so windy this morning it woke me and I’m terrified of wind(phobia of mine). I am ready for the beautiful blooms of the fruit trees too--your pics are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see Lilac Lane come into bloom. The kitties have it right--they are precious :)
Hugs my friend-hope you have a great weekend,
MM

Ah, your trees in blossom give me hope! They were beautiful last year and the buds are ready to pop for this year. We have also been teased by old man weather. Last week in the 60's and then almost 0. Brrrr!

Our weather has been wishy washy here too in PA. In the course of the past week, we've had mud, HORRIBLE wind, snow, rain, and they're calling for thunderstorms on Monday. Yep, sounds like spring!
By the way, the taco soup and cornbread look delicious! That's one of my family's favorite meals!

Hallo Maura,
Tina
