Hibernation Isn't Just For Bears

(Summer At The Cottage)

HIBERNATION

The internet described hibernation this way...

"To hibernate is to go into seclusion and sleep/rest
for an indeterminate amount of time,
sometimes days, weeks or even longer."

This is exactly what I feel like doing right about now.

The weatherman is predicting freezing rain tonight
and a 100% chance of blowing snow tomorrow
and a high of 18F
with a chance of more snow on Wednesday.

I'm beginning to feel like the fellow below!

(Internet)

I feel like I just want to crawl into my nice cozy bed
and cover up with one of these....

(Country Living)

I don't know if it's just me or maybe a lot of
you are feeling the same way.

It seems like this has been a very cold
and misserable winter for most of us...
especially those of you in the upper
mid-west and north east.

This cold weather makes me want to go
back to bed after doing chores
and stay there while supper
simmers in the slow cooker.

I know spring isn't far off but in the meantime
I thought I'd share some cozy places
that would be wonderful to
'hibernate' in.

Even this little fellows bed looks like a cozy place
to curl up for the night/day...
for days...weeks...or even longer
until SPRING finally
returns.

Until then...stay warm and safe.

Are you feeling the same way?

Maura :)

Oh Maura, love this post and these beautiful rooms. I am definitely the bear. I could hibernate all winter and not think twice. My husband says I am a grizzly :) LOL At any rate--if I had a bedroom like these, I would never get up.
Stay warm my friend,
MM

I find myself waking up all modivated, yet by 10 a.m. I'm wishing I could just curl up in bed with a good book. It's like I'm wanting to do something yet the effort to actually do something is just too much. If that makes sense. LOL

hi maura, i know the feeling! that sweet little critter is a darling! we have the freezing rain tomorrow so i canceled my heritage farm appt. and i am going to 'hole up' here at the farm and do some design work which isn't work at all to me! i love to stay at the farm and putter around. hope you find some energy soon. all the animal care keeps me moving and happiness surrounds me when i am down at the barn feeding and cleaning and visiting with my deer. thanks for the inspiring photos of those lovely bedrooms. they are gorgeous!

Hi Maura, I am Lynn and found your lovely blog button on Judith's Lavender Cottage blog. You and your husband are living my dream. Every picture of your lilac lane, the flowers, everything that makes "country living" so wonderful to me, just spoke to my heart. We live in Tampa Bay area in Florida, NOT country. We took a trip to Iowa and the Midwest when I retired last Fall and fell in love with Iowa. Problem is my three children and 5 grandchildren are here and they love Florida. So right now, I dream thru beautiful blogs such as yours about living the country life. At our age, we don't need a farm per se, just land, country roads, wildflowers (hence my blog name) and simple living. I am so happy to follow you. I would love it, if you stopped over to visit me at Wildflowerandcountryroads.com when you have time. Blessings.

Maura, this post is excellent !!
I do feel JUST like that!!
You've read my mind`those beds look so cozy and #4 and #7, and #9 are my favourites!
Even getting out of bed at this early hour (5.00 a.m) to get ready for work is tough on these winter mornings.
Have a great day and I hope you get some snuggling/snoozing time...

Deborah xoxo

Hi Maura,

Be safe and stay warm. Spring is just around the corner? It is, but we just have to find that corner. (o:

It's so hard to climb out of flannel sheets and cozy quilts when it's still dark out...we're agreed! Hibernation should be a must for us as well!

Maura great post! I just told CH at lunch that I just want to curl up on the couch with a blankie and Suds Bunny and sleep until winter goes away. And then I found myself on the puter and found this post! Love the little guy in the bottom shot!

I want to curl up with the little squirrel. He looks so sweet, but I bet he has big teeth!

Thanks for the email! I am now all caught up!

When did Henrietta pass away? I have missed so many posts lately. I am trying to catch up with everyone. Forgive me for not visiting...

Yes, I'm feeling the same way, especially since my car isn't drivable right now. Now I'm needing to shop for quilts or cuddly blankets to layer on my bed. Thanks for the ideas of hibernating rooms.

Oh I love this and I love Country Living. I'm in North West Florida but we have had a cold Winter as well believe it not. We are as far North in Florida as you can get. It's been down in the 20's at night and in the 30's and 40's during the day. I know that is probably warm to you LOL, but it's pretty chilly for Florida. I'm orginally from the North, Ohio and I miss the snow so much. The Winters here are very wet because of all the water we are very close to the beach. Up North I think It's a dryer cold. Blessings.
