A lot has changed since these pictures
were taken. Fences have gone up,
buildings have been sold and taken down,
picket fences are going up, and
unfortunately our old
barn we were looking
forward to restoring burned down
last July.
These photo's bring back happy memories.
I hope one day we will have another barn.
In the meantime when we get the time
(once the bee colony is re-located)
we will start renovations
to our old corn crib.
You never get bored on a farm.

Wonderful post and photos love your farm, wish I still lived on the farm I miss it. Our project for this year is building a large work shop shed for hubby best known on our blog as Papa ! He enjoys wood working. I cant wait for it to be built ! I pop over to Verda farms and check it out ! Have a great day !
Happy Friday Maura! Thanks for the tour of the farm-I love your Farm!! The chickens are great!! Have fun redoing all those buildings! No projects this year as we are renting. We are hoping to rent a new house with a purchase option around 5/1-keep your fingers crossed!!

I'm sure you'll get your barn one day, Maura! Up here, I'd like to paint all the sheds the same colour as the house. Maybe this summer.....
We have projects we hope to start AND finish this year! The list seems a little endless (and probably not 100% achievable), but a girl can dream: water and electricity out to the barn; resite the chickens and veggie gardens closer to the house; build cover for the tractor and implements; paint the barn; re-landscape the front yard and plan for the back; chip away at pasture renovation... oy.
Beautiful post and beautiful photos. This looks my kind of place! I grew up on a farm and don't actually farm now altho we live on 6 acres at the edge of town. I miss the peaceful countryside and I always loved hearing chickens, they sound so happy! Have a good day!
Thanks for coming by for a visit. I love the name of your blog and your farm is beautiful. I would have liked to have a whole flock of Buffs but it gets so hot here in the summer, it is hard on them. I think it would be nice to live on a place that looks like yours. I am in the middle of suburbia. The town grew out to us. I will just look at your pictures and enjoy real farm life. I love that picture of the field of sunflowers. That is just beautiful.

I don't know how I ended up here, but I'm glad I did. I'm a farm girl at heart stuck in the city for half of each year. The other half I'm on an island in Maine, no farm, but heaven nonetheless.
So sorry your barn burned down!! Tragic.

Oh Maura, perfect post for FF Friday! I agree with Chris, that first photo needs to be framed, it’s beautiful. I also love the one of the barn and all the chickens in the yard-that is great. I am so sorry about the barn. I know that is a heart break. The corn crib is wonderful and I know one day you will have your barn again.

Hi Maura, In answer to your question. Aperture is a photohop like thingy (tool? program?) I got a free download of it ( similar to Elements??) I am finding it pretty tricky thus the hours and hours doing it....whew. Picnik is fun...have your tried that...basic is free...its pretty easy..upgrade is $25 a year but I know I’m going for that soon...I love messin with the pics. Your photos are so great Maura...seriously...and you would love picnik( like you need more things to do right?) happy Saturday...c

I wanted to share with you.....my husband is getting ready to completely redo his shop as an old 30's/40s shop/gas station....but if your husband hasn't heard of this guy out of Cal. have him look him up..... Kiwi Kev, you can just google him and it will bring up his site, he has an unbelievable shop!

I still find it difficult to believe that beautiful old barn is gone, I can't imagine how difficult it is for you, I'm sure you miss it's presence greatly.
