Surprise Surprise!

Please excuse the quality of the pictures...she was moving!

The day before yesterday I asked Hubby
to help me find one of my
garden trellises
that I
hadn't seen since
moving to the farm nearly 2 years ago.

While we were looking around
inside the building I heard
what sounded like a kitten meowing.
It was coming from the inside of a wrecked
truck that my brother in law keeps stored
for parts.

We peaked inside and sure enough
there were two little kittens on the floor!

We only got this one out for pictures
as the other little one...a gray
striped tabby hid
under the seat.
This one is a little female.

We think the momma is a little
black feral cat that
we see once in a while around the
farm.

This little one already has a home
once she's old enough to leave
Momma.

The other little one we may keep
for ourselves if Momma doesn't run
off with it.

What a wonderful surprise!

My heart goes out to all those affected
by the tornado's that hit Missouri
Oklahoma and parts of Kansas
over the past few days.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Maura

Ah they are sweet as can be. It's hard to see animals that should be domesticated trying to fend for themselves. Of course I bet she won't have to now. :)

Oh, how precious. It was meant for you to find them. Maybe the mom knew they would be well cared for. What a blessing.

Yes, I am praying.

What a sweetie, and I bet the little tabby is adorable too. We have 4 girls, two are sisters, they and the other two were all born on our property. We've had them all fixed. Haven't had any little ones born here in quite some time now and for that we are thankful. We cannot add anymore to our little family, it is enough.

Enjoy.

My heart and prayers also go out for all those effected by the tornadoes.

She`s gorgeous- thought of a name yet ?

Thoughts and prayers to those effected by the tornado disaster.

She's gorgeous, and so calm given the fact that she is feral.
I hope you keep the other one, it will have the BEST of homes, and maybe work on catching the moma cat in a live trap to get her fixed, otherwise the cycle begins all over again.
Glad to hear you are safe, after all the horrendous storms we are having.
Hugs,
~Jo

Oh what a sweet surprise!!! Do you have a lot of feral cats around you? We have been hearing about the horrible tornados over there...it is truly horrific...my heart goes out to the victims and their families...
I have so much to catch up on, I saw a photo of strawberries further down..I have been so busy but will try and get caught up on reading everything this weekend if I can!! I have planted ten strawberry plants and I am really anxious to see if anything comes from them. They have flowers on them so I am hopeful. I also planted one squash plant and one cucumber plant and one paprika plant and a tomato plant and several herbs..a little kitchen garden if you will. I have wanted one for a long time so now I just cross my fingers it will do well!!
Oh sorry I got so chatty, take care!! Hugs from Norway :-)

Oh my goodness....a kitten! I'm just back from our local animal shelter and spent the morning petting up the adult cats. Whoever adopts that little one will be very lucky for sure. I hope you keep the other one, Maura so we can watch it grow up on your wonderful farm. What a great life it will have. We, too, have the victims in our prayers. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Oh darling lucky kitten...thank goodness you were there to save them...yes, momma needs to be found and fixed. a hassle for sure (we’ve done it many times!) but it needs to be done to stop the cycle of unwanted animals, but you already know this!!! I’m so glad to hear you are alright...when I hear about the tornadoes, I think of you...I have been working on my Etsy shop...it takes alot of time...so blogging has fallen by the wayside a bit. take care sweet friend. I saw that cute little face in my google reader and fell in love! Oh gosh how I miss having little kittens. Now down to 6 cats at the greenhouse but always new ones show up every year. Our latest is a big girl we call Bella that stays inside most of the time....which makes me feel better that she's safe.
Yes prayers for those poor people suffering such loss.

Hi Maura, I have thought about all my friends who have been in and close to the storms. There has been so many and some really bad. Your baby kitten is so adorable. Just be careful if you find the mother cat, they can be mean. We had one come to the lumber yard. It was marked so close to our cat we keep to control the mice they just thought it was him. Boy did they get a surprise? Scratches healed with no infection, but you don't know. Stay safe and take care. Your Missouri friend.

That little kitten is so adorable. We have had so many cats in the our former home. We did the same thing. Catch them, tame them, get their shots, get them fixed and love them. It is the best thing to do for all animals. I love that you care so deeply for all of your pets.

I am glad that you are OK. I pray for all of the people that have gone through such horrific tornadoes. It is aweful to witness.

The wee kittens are so adorable! I'm so glad the wild mama cat picked your farm to birth her kittens... she must have known a kind hearted woman lived there.
