Baby It's Cold Outside!

It's finally snowing here in our part of Kansas.
I have mixed feelings about it...first I love how everything is so bright and clean looking...BUT I hate the dirty wet paws that have to be wiped off every time the critters come into the house.

I filled up the feeder yesterday knowing full well our furry and feathered friends would be extra hungry with this
cold weather.

Looks like they appreciated it.

I love the Cardinals.

Looks like we have a few families of them around.

This little furry fellow let one of the male Cardinals eat with him for a while but then wanted it all for himself.

This furry fellow waited his turn in the apple tree.

We are surrounded on 3 sides by Black Angus cattle.
They make great entertainment when you're working outside.

This is how some of us spent our day.

Above is Chelsea snuggled into her bed under the kitchen table with her little baby bunny toy. Below is Olly in the bathroom sink...not far from the wood stove.

Oh how we love our wood stove...especially on days like this.

I hope you're warm and cozy where ever you are.

Maura :)

Hi Maura, great photos you took. Your wood stove looks very toasty! We have 3 space heaters going and we are hanging out in the loft. Have a great evening! Nicole

It looks lovely where you are...and Olly in the sink, he's adorable! We're under a winter storm warning here...6 inches of snow expected tomorrow. Can't wait! Thanks for sharing you pictures, and for sending the snow our way!

Hi Maura,

Thank you for the beautiful "snow" pictures. Oh, they bring back memories. I loved our wood burning stove, I even cooked on it. (o: Maybe it was me going through a "pioneer" phase. But it was fun.

Oh, I just love those pictures of Chelsea and Olly. Precious.

Hugs,
Joyce

Yes, the fires are burning here too. It's very cold but we're still waiting for a good landing of snow! I'm becoming a tad bit impatient!!

these photos are beautiful. Love the ones of the birds and little Olly in the sink is so cute. My cats like our bathroom sink, too. I sometimes find little paw-marks in there. We are sitting close to the wood-stove too, these days. It's freezing here and I'm ready for Spring. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5

LOL, Chelsea looks so comfy! So funny!

I love watching the birdfeeder throughout the winter. Looks like your his getting alot of business. I hung one up in the tree outside our kitchen window. The girls love sitting and watching the birds while they eat breakfast. So far we have only seen a couple of birds each day, but I think the words getting out, business is picking up.

Sorry forgot to mention I was just talking to my hubby about your woodstove yesterday. You know, just letting it be know that it's something I would love to have in our house. He gave me a very funny look but didn't say a word. Hmmm, not sure what that means, but the seed has been planted. LOL

Thanks so much for another glance at your fabulous wood stove.

So pretty Maura. I know what you mean about the wet, muddy paws though. I just hate mud but I do love the fresh snow. Your birds are beautiful and I am sure very appreciative of the food you provided. How wonderful to have black angus on 3 sides to watch and not have to care for--what a win. I think Chelsea and Olly had it right today. Love the cozy fire too :)

We're settling in for the possibility of not being able to get down the drive tomorrow morning. Snow is predicted, and if you remember Victoria - we don't do snow!

Hi Maura, I thought I would come to visit tonight before I call it a day. We have over 9" of snow on the grown and it is still snowing. It is our first real snow we have had. I like you pictures. Your wood stove brings back a lot of memories of growing up on the farm. I even thought about my mother cooking on it when we didn't have electricity.
Your kitten in the sink is cute. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend

The view out my window looks much like yours. My fur babies are all sprawled in front of our wood burner as well. What brand is your stove. Love the look of it. We have a Lopi but it sits in our original fireplace and I would like a new wood burner for our lake house.
