Indian Summer

The past couple of weeks have been absolutely beautiful
here in south central Kansas.
Our temperatures have been in the low to mid eighties
with lots of sunshine.
We could use the rain but I'm afraid once it's starts it
will be the end to our beautiful
Indian Summer.

I decided to head outside with my camera to take a few
pictures while everything still looks bright
 and colorful.

The vegetable garden is still producing tomatoes.
LOTS of tomatoes!
Better than it did all summer actually.

The cats came with me as usual...they try not to
miss a thing.
I don't know what kind of a plant they were eating
but they acted like it was catnip!

Olly (Oliver) ate his fill and then went off to explore
but Lizzy stayed.
I think she knew I was taking her picture because she rolled
and rolled and flipped and put on a wonderful show for me.

The cats and I continued on our stroll around the farm.
I was actually able to find some RED leaves...yeay!

The Mums I put in the old wheel barrow are
loving all the sunshine.

We headed out to the mailbox to see the new
cover...I like it. Not that anyone else
can see it way out in the boonies
but I'm sure our mailman will enjoy a change of
scenery.

Time for one more shot of Olly posing on the big tree stump
he and Lizzy love to play on.

It was a beautiful day and I'm glad I was able to get some
pictures to look back on this winter.

Winter has it's beauty but Fall is the star of the seasons
for me.

I'm linking again with Mary over at Little Red House
for Mosaic Monday I hope you will go and visit Mary and look around at all the wonderful Mosaics everyone has created. You may just meet some new blogging friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Maura :)

What a fun way to spend a few hours - in the sunshine, with a camera. I had to smile at the thought of your appreciative mail man!

Good Morning Miss Maura,

We love the collage, and Ollie & Lizzy are just as cute as a bug's ear.

Thank you for sharing those lovely photos. What a nice way to begin a Monday, just sitting reading your post and listening to the nice music.

Morning Maura! Those are some beautiful pictures and the Indian Summer mosaic is really very pretty and striking. Four great captures! I am just a little embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to do a collage or mosaic. I should really figure it out!

Love that Olly Cat and Lizzy Cat anytime you give them blog time. Country Cat looked just like them and it is fun to see them enjoying their country life. The two of them chowing down grass together is a hoot, those faces!

MissouREE is enjoying the same awesome Autumn weather as south central Kansas but maybe not quite as warm. No rain now for almost a month!

Hi Maura,
You take such sweet photos of your kitties. They sure do love to pose! My cats are indoor ones, so photographing them is not as interesting as in the great outdoors. And our puppy Chloe is a difficult one, to keep still long enough to garner a shot outside. Running around the grass, chasing her tail is a difficult shot. ;)

Have a happy week.

Love, love, LOVE the new header!! (well, it might not be new however I haven't been on the computer in a week or so). The cat photos are absolutely wonderful. I'm so jealous that you're still getting tomatoes. We're getting root crops and peppers only. I didn't grow brussels sprouts this year, but since we've had a couple of light frosts I can't wait to buy some at the farmers market this week.
Have a great week!

Well just look at those two chowing-down. I agree, it must be wild cat-nip. Your flowers still look so nice. You must be just lovin' living in the country at this time of year.
I always enjoy your blog. Deb =^..^=x5

Still getting tomatoes, lucky you! Your cats look so cute in these photos, following you around.

I love the time of year when I see the first leaves start to turn yellow or red or orange...

Hi Maura, I've been out of town this week with my work and I'm catching up. Isn't it funny that you and I both did the same layout for our mosaic and we featured our cats in the exact same box? I tell you, I am your mini Me and I love it :)
I love the mailbox cover too.

I just love that mailbox cover. It's so bright and cheery. I'm sure the mailman does appreciate it and you will each time you go to it, too. Great idea! Since we don't have fancy mailboxes up here, I'll just have to keep coming on here and enjoy yours with you! Forgot to mention the picture of you and your Dad in your room. I remember that one and love it...lots of memories.... Olly sure is a "poser", isn't he? How funny! lol Enjoy your sunshine...I've got some beautiful pics of our leaves changing colors that I'll get sent to you yet...don't know how to share them on here but I'll get them to you and you can decide if you'd like to... Love you...Scufty
