I Need Some Inspiration And A Fence!

Grit Magazine

I'm in a decorating 'funk'.
I don't know what's up with me this fall but I just can't seem to get into the fall decorating mode as much
as I'd like to.

Part of it is because of this guy.

Shep our Akbash terror

Well in this picture taken this spring it
looks like Chelsea our little Shih Tzu is the
'terror'.
But in truth Shep ...who is just the sweetest 'pup' is
actually the 'destroyer'.

Last year he chewed up my scarecrow that I bought at
Cracker Barrel years ago. It was sitting on our front porch on the old bench.

I LOVED that old scarecrow!

He not only chewed him up but he chewed the little scarecrow who sat on his lap and the ends off the
real pumpkins and the baskets of Mums I had put out.
Thank heavens our 'working' scarecrow is in the fenced vegetable garden.

Yesterday he chewed up my fall wind-sock!

So...I hope you can understand my lack of enthusiasm
when it comes to fall decorating outside.

Mr Fixit says we're putting up a fence soon.
I can hardly wait.

In the meantime...I need some inspiration to get me back in the mood.

I hope you enjoy these pictures and I hope you're fall decorating is doing better than mine.

I'm going now to price some fencing...
I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Shep is a wild man! or woman! as fustrating as it is I have to giggle a bit... we had a dog just like that. A royal pain in the _ _ _!!!! But I loved that dog with all my heart and soul! I still miss Paul the bassethound.:( I hope you get your fall grove on ;)

Puppies...gotta lov'em. My 'sweet' Callie chewed a fabric pumpkin last night. A girl can't even have a soak in the tub without something being destroyed. Geesh! : )

Sweet Friend,

Don't be down in the dumps. Shep is young and full of energy. Jessie & Molly have torn up a small area (thank goodness) in their fenced in yard, have a garden around the dogwood tree where the squirrels like to taunt them. They run to the tree and have worn a rut in the soil.

This weekend we cut down the tree, taking the garden up and putting down sod. That is our best solution.

Smile, you are NOT alone. Now, go and get those decorations out.

Heaps of Hugs,
Joyce

Shep is showing his puppy traits, hopefully he'll grow out of the chewing ones, and then you can enjoy letting him run looses again without fear of him destroying everything.
I love the scarecrows, so imaginative, and fun.
The squirrels and deer are bad about destroying our decorations and flowers, we just have to live in harmony and put up with each other.
Happy Fall to you !

I feel for you, Maura. Maybe he'll grow out of it.
I love your scarecrows!
We don't do much outside Fall decorating. Our weather turns too soggy too fast.
But today, is perfect. Hugs♥

In the one picture I think he is winking at you! Thinking about what he can get into next. They can be frustrating but we love our pets!

What would we do with out our dogs? Ours have settled down some what, but it doesn't take much for them to get into trouble.

Your scarecrow's are too cute. I use to make one for our kids when they were little, but alas no out door decorations here because there is no one around to enjoy or see them.

Have a great week.

Maura, I do understand. Until I got the electric fence around the house, my Shep was chewing up everything. I put our my fall mums and pumpkins and he was rolling the pumkins around like balls. I can appreciate the challenge for sure :)
The scarecrow pics are awesome and I really love scarecrows. My favorite is "the" scarecrow of scarecrows...Wizard of Oz.

I had a neighbor's dog do the same thing to my scarecrow. I was miffed! I love to decorate. With my kids grown and on their own now I find it difficult myself. I did the inside, my house sets off the road aways so no sense in doing anything outside. Your Phoebe looks like my old Squeak! I sold her a couple years ago. I bought her to keep my Quarter Horse, Moon, company. I miss them both!

Maura,
Your dogs look like they are having the time of their lives! We have 2 labs, a yellow and a black. The yellow seems to like to lead the way to making trouble. Last year the two of them decided to eat a BUNCH of my mini pumpkins. Needless to say, we were all up most of the night!

They also decided my newly sewn Halloween pillow, complete with black pom pom fringe, made a great pull toy. And of course, they ate the pom pom fringe.
