Where Has The Time Gone?

Don't you just love the shabby chic feel of this porch!

It's hard to believe that it's August 6th already!
Where has the summer gone?

I know some of you in the north west haven't had much of a summer at all and others in the south east have been struggling with heat and high humidity.

We've been breaking records for temerature here in Kansas and because of the heat I haven't spent much time with my camera...
so I thought I'd share some photo's from the Internet of pretty summer decorating...inside and out.

Love the railing and look at that view!

I just want to climb in and have a little nap

Sweet idea from Martha Stewart

I love white ironstone, don't you?

I have 3 watering cans similar to these..what a great idea!

Love the old wood walls

I love the look of this room...that table cloth is sweet!

Seeing this makes me want white walls and those flowered drapes!

Love the little spoons with the shells

This is another bed I'd love to jump into right about now!

We've still got over a month of official summer left so that means we still have time to enjoy and play with our summer decorating.
Yeay!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer.
Keep cool if you've been suffering from the heat and for those who haven't had much of a summer yet...
it's not to late.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Maura :)

We had a relatively hot day today, but it was spoiled by the smoke in the air from the mainland fires - hard to believe, but we get the smoke all the way over here.
Soon we'll be drooling over photos of cosy fall and winter decor, so I'm going to do my best to squeeze every drop of enjoyment out of the summer that's left!

I'm still hoping. We're back in the 60's with rain predicted. Oh well.
Have a wonderful weekend, Maura. It's always a joy to stop by your blog. You make me smile!

6 weeks no rain. Temps upper 90's & 100f. Humidity to kill & if not, the mosquitos will.

Thru it all my little garden still charming. Me? Not so much!

Love the images! Hard to believe my grandson starts school next week. Where did the summer go? And why won't the hot temperatures go right along with it?

So sad to read about your barn. I would have shed a LOT of tears. You have a good attitude about it....at least you have the memories and the pictures.
It was also a good thing no one got hurt!!!

Maura, what beautiful pictures you shared with us. I loved seeing them All! I do love the look of the sun porch and the white ironstone And the pretty white buffet under the ironstone! We have been suffering from the exesive heat also and hear that more is to come next week. I am so sorry about your barn. I am so sentimental about things like that. I just love old barns. I do hope that you have a wonderful weekend and a respite from the heat. Twyla

The street we lived on when I was a child was Lilac Lane. Funny, I don't recall any lilacs on that street. :o)

Have a lovely week! La
