Dora The Explorer (discovered SHE is a HE)
Remember the kittens we found
here on the farm a few weeks ago?
If you didn't see that post you can see it...
Well momma cat decided to move them
probably to protect them from the dogs
as the kittens were moving around
and probably in danger of falling out
of the truck.
Plus the dogs discovered the kittens
hiding place but couldn't get to them.
Hubby told one of the fellows
at work about
the kittens and I took pictures.
He said he'd take the black one ...but
when we went out to check on them last
week they were gone!
The next day I heard one of our little dogs
barking and thank heavens I heard it
because momma cat had carried them
into the BURN PILE!
This is a huge pile of limbs and other wood
that we accumulate from cleaning up
around the farm.
I chased the dogs away and then sat on the ground
and talked to them. The two kittens were way
inside but there was enough light to just
see them.
Thank heaven's we had picked them up and
handled them and talked to them when
they were in the truck because
when they heard my voice
the came out!
The little black sweetie above will go to her
new home in a couple of weeks.
The little one below
aka
Dora The Explorer
soon to be renamed...
will be staying with us here on the farm.
Unfortunately for their own protection
we have taken them away from
the mom who we haven't seen since
and brought them in the house.
Our little Shih Tzu Chelsea
would have been able to get to them
if we'd left them there
and I just didn't want to take that chance.
I'm happy to say they are doing
wonderful and are happy and well fed!
And safe.
Isn't that the most adorable face above!
Sleepy time.
Time for a wrestle!
Time to explore.
And time to go inside for a nap.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!
Maura :)

Oh Maura, what wonderful pictures. They are so precious. Bet it's difficult to get chores done with those two little babies around.
Thank you for being such a wonderful animal person.
What better way than to curl up for a nap - with a teddy bear. (o:

Sweeties! I love kittens!
I'm so glad you found them, Maura. Imagine all the things that can happen to these little kittens when not protected. Oh they are so cute! I will really enjoy watching him grow. I'm serious, nothing is more fun than that. I'm sitting here typing with a cracked rib 5 days before my son's wedding. What luck, eh! Enjoy your week and thanks for posting such a sweet one, today. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4
Aww so precious! I love kitties!
Oh how I love kittens!!! A new cat just showed up here 2 weeks ago. Not more than a year old, and she is pregnant...So we will be doing the birthing kittens thing again. Brutus was ourlast kitten born on our property.
Actually I am really excited about it :)
I can't wait to follow kitties new adventures!

Adorable ! that last picture is so cute ! x
Dear Maura,
I am green with envy for your new kitties! There's nothing in the world that is sweeter as they are little angels with whiskers. Hugs to them from the cats of Lakeview Point.
Wonderful photos ! They are so darn cute !
they are adorable kittens, love all your photos!
OOOH I want one!
The kittens are sweet and I'm glad you were able to find them.
Such sweet little kitten faces! I just want to kiss them. I love to watch kittens. They're the best entertainment.

Those are the most adorable photos I have seen in some time. You really captured their sweetness.
Those are some of the cutest kitten pictures I have ever seen. I'm glad they have you to look out for them. Peace.
I needed some 'cuteness' today, and you've given me that--THANKS!!! I hope you're doing well, and your week is off to a good start!
How adorable! I love kittens and these are so cute! I'd love to have another kitten, but I don't think my Stormy would go for it. She's very territorial and aggressive and would, unfortunately, probably harm a little kitten. I know that your kittens will be well loved. Great photos!
This is the most wonderful story I’ve ever read! You and your man are
so kind and tenderhearted...thank you so much for saving those kitties..they are adorable
What cuties! They'll soon be big enough to hold their own.
What a couple of cutie pies! Love those bigs eyes when they look at the camera! It certainly is good that you found them and can keep them safe and sound inside.

They are adorable. Thankfully for them the feral cat will no longer be part of their lives.

Oh, wow! So adorable!!! Sadly, my daughter developed a cat allergy while we had 3 kitties and we had to find new homes for them all. It was so sad but luckily we have rescued a puppy (no allergies to dogs, oddly enough). Still, I often think of my cats (yes, I still think of them as mine) and wish I still had them...
Hi Maura,
The kittens are the sweetest little things. The color of their eyes are mesmerizing. So adorable.
Maureen
aawww!
The kittens are so precious! I am a cat lover and have 3 of my own.
OMG - the thought of them in the burn pile w/o you knowing! I'm glad they're safe.
I wonder if you should always check that burn pile prior to burning? You never know what critters might be in there. Yikes!
love love love love LOVE!!!
Could the kittens be any cuter. I wish I wasn't allergic to cats because I would love a little kitten. Just adorable!!
