One Sunny Country Morning

I was getting tired of watering
and weeding
picking up piles of horse poop
and tired of
throwing broody hens
 off their nests....

....so I put the kettle on
grabbed my camera
and  few
other things
and headed out
under the trees.

 It was a perfect morning
for taking pictures
sipping tea
and reading a
good book.

Chelsea thought so too.

The photo above with the
rose on the book
reminds me of the movie
'You've Got Mail'

I love that movie.

The book is
The Mill On The Floss
by
George Eliot

It belonged to my
Nana and
I've had it for years.

I think it's time I read it.

Lizzy hung out on her favorite
perch
watching me.

A cup of tea and a good book
under the trees
on a sunny morning in the country.

Tattered old lace found at the flea market

It doesn't get much better
than this.

haven't read that either.

Bought, $1, Emily Dickinson complete poems yesterday. It's for my Conservatory. So many lines seem to be written for gardeners....

also found, Monet's Table, $2. already have 2 copies. this one is to give away.

Love kitty in the birdbath. Dog following you.

I'm shopping downtown at the wholesale mart with a client today. quite fun.

Wise choice. Some things are with us always and can be postponed for needful things :D. Love your pics.

What a fabulous way to spend a little time... I hope you enjoyed a bit of quiet time here after your photo shoot! And I think the roses in the simple aqua jar is my favorite... but the beautiful linens are a close, close second!

Your post was so relaxing and soothing to read. Loved Mizzy relaxing in the water container, or maybe it is a bird seed container?

Seeing your blue Mason jar reminded me of mine . . . and out the three sizes came. Great for flowers aren't they?

A good book, pleasant weather, relaxing from the outdoor and indoor tasks is a "very good thing" to feed the soul. I am happy you are treating yourself kindly.

The colours in this post are so beautiful. Love the blue and white china and that lace table-cloth is so pretty. Tablecloths always look so perfect outside. You know, I have never bought a bird bath but I see now that all cat owners should have one. Hugs to Lizzy and to you. Deb

Maura..
you are a wise woman; to stop, smell the flowers and enjoy the day that the Lord has granted us.

I need to do that more often.
A lot more often.

Thank you for reminding me to enjoy lifes little blessings, and pleasures.

Hugs..

Hi Maura, I am taking some "me" time to read blogs tonight. I would love to have a cup of tea with you and just visit. It looks so relaxing and makes me homesick for the farm that is what you get for being raised on the farm. I still enjoy being able to sit under the shade tree and just enjoy the peace and quiet. I enjoyed the previous post to. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.

SO lovely Maura... can I come for tea?! Sorry I been so quiet these last couple weeks, I’ve been really ill (now finally diagnosed with Whooping Cough even though I was immunized) and have had another very rough week.
