We took a road trip
last week
to pick up something that my
hubby bought for the farm.
On the way we passed this old beauty.
All she needs is a new roof
and she'd be ready
for the next generation
to put her to use.
I wish she was mine.
We are starting to be
surrounded by
"amber waves of grain".
It won't be long until
they start cutting the
winter wheat.
I wonder what they'll plant next.
I hope it's corn...
or sunflowers!

It is so sad to see barns falling down. There is one close to me that just kills me that they are allowing it to go. But it take money and maybe they can't afford it.
I have noticed that the wheat is getting so close to being ready. It is just so beautiful! Golden wheat fields and red barns. What can be better than that?

Old barns were once part of the landscape, but now sadly they are all disappearing. The land is too valuable. I do like it though when they are converted into houses, as I would love to live in one myself.
That's a beautiful barn. I hope it is sunflowers too that would be awesome. B

She for sure needs a new roof, but can you imagine actually roofing it - - - those barn roofs have steep pitch!

ready to cut winter wheat already....your growing seasons are much different from ours. Our farmers have been very busy this last week getting their fields ready and seeding.
I love old barns. there is something so mysterious about them....you, ME want to know all the history behind it.
Old barns are great. We have several around here. All that wheat. Us too. Never anything but wheat. O except maybe bonzo's once in a while. Love the barn.
